An average student spends at least 10 hours of his time in a week in the internet cafes updating his social networking profiles, playing games, working on that tomorrow-is-the-deadline project or just killing time. By the time he would graduate in high school, he would have spent 17,280 hours of his life in front of the computer. The said figure would double up when he graduates in college(that is, if he didn't have failed grades or switch courses). Imagine, that's a lot of time in front of that modern idiot box!If we could spend that much time in a more meaningful and profitable way like article writing wherein could usually get paid around $2-4 per hour, taking paid surveys or blogging. Of course the money that were talking about is not that much but once it's accumulated, then you'd be grateful you've made use of the time doing something income-generating. Google Adsense, for example, is of the simplest though the slowest(it's true if you don't have much traffic in your website) income-generating program wherein you just have to incorporate it in your blog and then it displays ads related to your posts. Choosing the right areas and location wherein to put them would also help in improving the chances of increasing your AdSense earnings.Now here's the million dollar question. How do you start blogging? For those who already are enjoying their blogs, then perhaps you might try AdSense. For internet-savvy and fully aware with that blogs exists but doesn't know how to get started, then this post is especially for you!
1. Think of a topic appeals to you the most and of great signifance to your targeted readers.2. Get a pen and paper and start brainstorming. You don't want to just face in the computer for many hours and exhaust your brain and your electric resources and only end up finishing nothing.
3. Don't be afraid to get ideas from others. Search and look around the net for posts related to your planned topic and set your thoughts free. But be sure to cite it as a reference.
4. Take pictures related to that topic or search for pictures on that net that are not copyrighted. Pictures would definitely enhance the clarity of your thoughts.
5. Sign up for an account with a blog carrier, this will give you free space to publish your work and let the whole work know about it. Some of the popular and commonly used are Blogger and Wordpress. Both are very user-friendly and powerful.
6. Once you've been approved with an account on your preferred blog carrier, you're now ready to post around your thoughts and pictures.
Now the critical part is how to get traffic. You've got a really nice layout and content but no one seems to know that your blog exists! Get some help from your social networking friends by posting in the bulletin boards that "hello world, i got a blog check it out" or tell your friends! You can also submit your site's URL to indexing sites. But don't worry about it for now since you're just starting. Grab that pen and paper and remember that good content always drive great traffic!
